The Art of Optimization: Real-World Example of SEO Keywords

In the competitive online realm, real-world examples of SEO keywords are your secret weapon for success.

Neglecting keyword optimization means your content remains invisible online, wasting your efforts and missing crucial opportunities. It hands your competitors an advantage and accelerates the decline of your content’s relevance.

Let’s briefly list the benefits to your website content by choosing optimum keywords:

  1. Visibility: Your content will rank higher and receive more visitors
  2. Relevance: You will get more of your target audience – the people who will benefit the most from your content
  3. Competitive Edge: Rank higher than your competitors
  4. User Intent: Match the user’s intent (informational, research, commercial or transactional intent)
  5. Conversion: Attracting your target audience leads to higher conversion rates

This article will walk you through two scenarios, the first for an online business and the second is a blog. We will create primary, long-tail and question based keywords for both scenarios.

To ensure your blog’s success, embrace keyword optimization as an essential strategy for visibility and audience engagement. Let’s go!

Table of Contents: Example of SEO Keywords

SEO Keywords: Examples For A Business

Businesses, especially those exclusively online, need to use keywords effectively to acquire online traffic from potential customers.

The way to get your target audience to come to your website is by using keywords they are searching for online.

We will pick the Business “Yoga for Moms” as an example.

Yoga for Moms Example

For all these keyword searches I am using a Keyword Research tool from SE Ranking. Other tools will work in a similar way. SE Ranking has a free keyword discovery tool you can use although it’s limited to only a few reports per day. Try it here:

I am going to limit the keyword difficult to 30 (out of 100). Depending on the size of your website and the amount of traffic you receive you can change the difficulty up or down. Higher difficulty keywords are more challenging to rank for so I suggest setting difficulty to a low number to begin with.

Primary Keyword for Yoga for Moms

Other than the keyword difficulty setting described above I am not going to set any other parameters for the primary keyword report.

Let’s see what keywords are returned in the report:

As you can see from the screenshot above there are plenty of keyphrases we can target that are easy to rank for – even for small websites or blogs.

Based on those keywords lets generate some potential blog post’s we could write:

Blog Post Title
Empowering Moms: A Guide to Yoga for Postnatal Wellness
Mom Poses to Relieve Stress and Boost Energy
Nurturing Bond: Baby and Mom Yoga for Connection
Mother Yoga: Rejuvenate Your Mind, Body, and Spirit
Yoga for Moms: Finding Balance Amidst Motherhood’s Chaos

Long Tail Keywords for Yoga for Moms

Long-tail keywords are those that aren’t as commonly searched for, meaning they have a low number of monthly searches. In reality, the majority of keyword phrases searched for fall into the long-tail category. In fact, nearly 95% of all keywords receive fewer than 10 searches per month (Source: Long Tail Keywords, Ahrefs).

Don’t be disheartened by this, though. The beauty of long-tail keywords is that they’re easier to rank for. Moreover, wouldn’t you prefer to be on the first page for several long-tail keywords rather than being invisible for high-volume keywords? I certainly would.

As a novice blogger or website content creator, I recommend sticking to long-tail keywords initially. As your website grows and you attract more visitors, you can target increasingly more difficult and higher volume keywords.

Question Based Keywords for Yoga for Moms

Many searchers type in a question into Google so you can try targeting those question based searches.

Again, we will use the “yoga for moms” as an example. Here are some question based blog post titles you can use:

  • Is Yoga the Ultimate Stress-Reliever for Moms?
  • How Can Yoga Benefit Moms’ Mental Health?
  • What Are the Best Yoga Practices for Busy Moms?
  • Why Should Moms Embrace Yoga in Their Daily Routine?
  • Can Yoga Help Moms Regain Their Pre-Pregnancy Strength?
  • Is Baby and Me Yoga Suitable for New Moms?
  • What Are the Top Mom-Approved Yoga Poses?
  • How Does Yoga Foster a Stronger Bond Between Moms and Babies?
  • Are there Specific Yoga Practices Tailored for Postnatal Recovery?
  • Why Is Yoga the Perfect Self-Care Ritual for Moms?

As you see there are many possible topics you can explore based on the original topic.

SEO Keywords: Examples For A Blogger

Bloggers, especially those who make it a full-time gig, depend entirely on their online traffic to generate sales and income. Knowing how to correctly use SEO keywords to drive blog traffic is crucial.

As a blogger, once you’ve selected your blogging niche, identified your target audience, and devised your monetization strategy, the next step is to discover the right keywords that are relevant to your blog.

Let’s take the example of a blog focused on the ‘Keto Diet’.

What kinds of blog posts should we write about?

Let’s start by going to Google and using Google Autosuggest. Here is what I get when I type keto diet into Google:

This can be a good starting point to explore what areas of the keto diet topic we want to write about.

Primary Keywords for Keto Diet

Let’s look for primary keywords with a maximum difficulty of 30. Again, I’m using SE Ranking, but feel free to use your preferred keyword discovery tool or the keyword research widget I’ve included above.

It’s worth noting that the original phrase ‘keto diet’ is also present in the report, even though it carries a higher difficulty.

We might consider crafting blog posts that compare the keto diet to the Atkins diet and the paleo diet. Additionally, it appears that diet plans and recipes are gaining popularity.

Take some time to fine-tune your search by incorporating or excluding specific terms, applying filters based on monthly search volume, competition, word count, and other factors.

Long-Tail Keywords for Keto Diet

Long tail keywords for “keto diet” with a minimum of 3 words and a maximum difficulty of 30.

We have a wide range of topics to choose from, offering both good monthly search volume and manageable difficulty. It’s advisable to begin by focusing on the least difficult ones. For instance, “How much sugar can you have on Keto?” holds a difficulty score of 18, yet it boasts a monthly search volume of 590, making it an ideal first target keyword.

Question-Based Keywords for Keto Diet

In turns out that people interested in Keto diets have many questions! Here is a short list of some of the questions they ask:

  • Can you have diet soda on keto?
  • Can you eat cheese on a keto diet?
  • Can you drink wine on keto diet?
  • Where can i buy keto diet pills?
  • Can you eat nuts on keto diet?
  • How much sugar can you have on a keto diet?
  • Can you eat bacon on a keto diet?
  • Can you eat eggs on a keto diet?
  • How much protein in keto diet?
  • Where can you buy keto diet pills?
  • Can you drink coffee on keto diet?
  • Can you eat yogurt on keto diet?
  • What to eat before workout on keto diet?
  • How much water should you drink on a keto diet?

You could write many blog posts answering these questions. You can probably group some of these questions into a single post. Notice how the questions are grouped, for instance:

  • Can you [do something] on a keto diet?
  • Where can I buy [keto related item]?
  • How much [consumable] can I have on a keto diet?
  • What to eat before [doing some activity]?

You can generate a large number of possible blog post’s by substituting various items/activities into these generic questions.

Of course, don’t forget to do your keyword research to ensure there is sufficient search volume and the difficulty is low enough for you to rank well.

Tools for Keyword Discovery

keyword spelled out

Which tools are the best for keyword discovery? The market offers numerous excellent keyword discovery tools. If you have a substantial budget, you might consider Ahrefs and SemRush, but be aware that these tools cost over $100+ per month to use.

For those of us with more modest budgets, I highly recommend SE Ranking. It’s the keyword discovery tool I use, and, conveniently, it also handles keyword tracking, competition research, and SEO audits.

Before committing to a paid plan, you can explore your favorite keyword discovery tool by using a free trial or taking advantage of the limited number of daily reports they provide.

Final Thoughts: Example of SEO Keywords

Thank you for taking the time to read this article. I hope you found it informative and valuable. Here’s a quick summary:

  • Select the right keywords for visibility, relevance, a competitive advantage, and improved conversions.
  • If the keyword difficulty is manageable, opt for a primary keyword.
  • Prioritize long-tail keywords since they are easier to rank for.
  • Consider using question-based keywords to provide answers to common queries from your target audience.
  • Use a keyword discovery tool to identify relevant keywords within your niche.

Once you’ve mastered keyword research and discovery, you’ll increase your chances of consistently ranking your content on the top pages of Google.
